What was done during the rebuild? Where all the syncros replaced? What kind of LSD is it; a stock factory one?

Randy:
It was a full rebuild by Auto Edge in Mahtomedi Minnesota, (very well known 944 shop). All of the syncros were replaced with stock units except for 3rd and 4th which were replaced with steel units. Those gears get the most use so I wanted a more durable syncro. The bearings and main shaft were replaced. The gears had little ware so they were kept except 3rd gear which, while serviceable, was some what worn so it was replaced. Basically anything that was even slightly worn was replaced. The rebuild itself cost over $2500 in parts and labor. The limited slip is a factory unit. If you want to know more, please let me know. If you want to talk to AutoEdge before buying let me know and I can arrange a call. Or you can call them at (651)777-6924 and ask for Bob Viau, (pronounced "view"). |
