The Number 175974 for the Koni's is unfamiliar - and there may be a right and left number.
What do they fit? and are they internally or externally adjustable? - pics would help.

These are for the late model 944 with sealed struts. They're also legal in 944 Spec.

I'm not the right buyer for these but they are a good racing shock.

FYI, if these are the struts for the hacksaw conversions they can be had from Paragon for under $200 each:
Paragon Products - Porsche Parts & Accessories - Koni, Sparco, Pagid, K&N, Bilstein, Weltmeister Might want to check your asking price...

+1 for KDJones
8641-1414 is a Koni insert for Turbo 944's - $135.00 labor per pair and then $250.00 each for the insert. So for the pair $635.00 if you have good reuseable struts to convert. That is from Koni though, and it is much cheaper to do it yourself by buying them at just under the $200 ea. mark and a little saw work on old strut housing.

So I would have to convert my housings on an 87S? Is there a procedure posted somewhere anyone could point me to? For a daily driver type, what would be the difference between these and Billsteins if anyone would care to offer an opinion.
Also when I did cartridges on my 85.5 NA it didn't turn out as precise as I wanted. e.g. depending on how tight the top nut was torqued the spring would twist in the spring seat when turning the steering wheel. I used a double locknut as a workaround. I guess something is worn in the tower and needs replacing. Never fully sorted this out! The fronts on this car are koni adjustables and the rears are Boges. The difference in stiffness between front and rear on this car is like night and day as it is also a slush box automatic with no rear sway bar! |
