FREE: partial '85 944

I have a 1985 944 with clear title. It is somewhat picked over. No hood, no front clip, no rear hatch, no interior, no trans, no header panel, no tail lights, no side markers.

It has the complete motor, which has an intact timing belt and does turn over by hand. I have not done a compression test, and I do not know why the car was abandoned, so I can't tell you anything further about the condition of the engine. Both doors are still on the car, although I will remove them too if nobody takes the car. The body is in pretty decent shape, both rear quarters are certainly usable if someone were industrious enough to remove them. No cancer. The doors are pretty good too, although the passenger door was keyed at one point.

In addition to the motor, it still has the complete wiring harness, torque tube, and the complete five lug suspension. This pile of parts is FREE to first person to COMMIT to coming and picking it up before 10 PM Thursday 28 Jan. It is located in Plymouth MI.

The wife said I had to get rid of it in order to make room for another 931 I just acquired. I don't have time to finish pulling the motor or the five lug suspension, so if it's not gone by next Thursday, it's going to the scrapyard.

This is when I first fetched it, before I started dismantling it. The cookies are gone. There is a set of very funky early 80s mag rims on it for rollers...3 of those plus a space saver spare, so don't get your hopes up on the wheels :P

Is this an early or late 85?

Early. VIN is WP0AA0948FN474801. So early offset steel-based five lug suspension. Everything else that matters as far as distinguishing early and late is already gone.
