urethane/delrin rack bushings that DON'T cost $160???
Seriously...i understand the Porsche tax for low volume pieces, but that's absurd. They're $79 a side at Paragon...does anyone have a lead on something similar for a reasonable price?
I installed aluminum rack mounts (bushing eliminators) on my 5 liter Mustang and couldn't believe the difference in feel. I'm surprised this isn't a more universally-needed part!

I'm with you. I need to tear apart my suspension to find a loose end, and it would be nice to replace all of the 25 year old rubber while it's in my hand. But not at these prices!

Only the drivers side bushing is needed.

The drivers side bushing has shoulders on it that provide the lateral stability to keep the rack in place. The passenger side holds the rack but has no shoulders to stop the side to side movement. If the passenger side rubber bushing is in good shape, the benifit is from the drivers side. At least that is what I have been reading. I am looking for one also.

and they really made a difference to be metal on the Mustang.
Come on, manufacturers--I'd pay $100 for a pair in aluminum. That's about $40 more than my Mustang parts, and THAT came with hardware...!

RS BARN: Performance Parts & Engineering paragon also has them; Porsche 944, 924S and 968 Left Steering Rack Delrin Bushing (Rack Tack) or you can make your own in aluminum! CNC Machine Shop | Custom Waterjet, Plasma, Laser Cutting | eMachineShop.com

by the way, i have them and they make a really big difference. i'd say $79 is a cheap price to pay for a custom delrin part that you'll likely never need to replace again for the life of the car.

There is a seller on eBay now offering polyurethane rack bushings for like $30 shipped. Has anyone tried them? The brand is "Ricochet". ???

The poly bushings "Ricochet" named earlier are posted on eBay at $14.00 each.
If any one has used them let us know - might be interesting

Even as late as Spring keep us informed as to the value and quality - this may be a less expensive way out.

I just bought and installed the drivers side rack tack from Paragon. If those are the same thing for less money that is going to suck. Be sure to post how hard they are. The one from paragon is two pieces and is completely inflexible. There is no way it would fit around the rack if it came as the one on ebay is pictured.

Rear sway Bar Bushing DIY
Hi all,
I recently made a set of Delrin Bushings for my rear sway bar. The total cost was $10 and a couple of hours dinking with it. You can find a write up here: Part One: PCA SDR • View topic - Making Delrin Bushings DYI PART 1 Part Two: PCA SDR • View topic - Making Delrin Bushings DYI PART 2 Cheers, Mark |

i have heard polyurethane and/or urethane bushings squeak. delrin is self-lubricating and does not squeak.
