Another One Bites the Dust.......
1983 60k mile car. Only a couple of broken bones. I want to help the owner with the tow bill so does anyone need anything? Good rear bumper,taillamps, maybe manual trans. Ask me about other stuff and I will look.

Not me. My 1983 is still in one piece. This one was towed in from a wreck last weekend to our lot. The owner just wants the tow bill settled and I don't need any of the parts that are still ok. He says that the two people were hurt but only a broken bone each. Really lucky huh? It has a brown interior but its pretty much toast. Coolant tank is good but breather box is crushed, stuff like that.

If it's an NA and the tranny is salvageable, I would be interted in it or possibly just the 5th gear set.

I think the trans is ok and it is normally aspirated, I will have to take a look at the front center caps and see if they survived. The car hit a tree at cowl while going on its side so the impact was not head on (if you can imagine that). Thus, many drivetrain parts may be ok. The roof was cut off by the Rescue Squad.

Sorry about not listing prices, but the tow bill is $312 and I am trying to decide if we can clear the tow bill and the labor to extract the requested parts. You can own the whole car for $312 or I will part it out myself. A 60k motor should be worth the money. I need to decide soon. Let me know if you want something as I will look closely at engine and trans tomorrow. 2 good cookies with newish brand named tires.
