Wanted Nippondenso 10P15 Compressor

I would like to attempt to rebuild a Denso compressor this winter, and need a few more parts. The clutch drive plate and shaft is damaged on my current unit, but the bores, pistons and bearing all look good. This unit came off a 88 924S, so it is the same as the 85 1/2 and up. Now these rebuilds rarely work, but I hate to buy a rebuilt or new.

So if you have a Denso Compressor from an 87/88 924s or late 944 PM me with a price.

Let me share some tips on doing this job, since I just did one last week. You'll need a AC clutch puller to get the clutch off. If you don't want to buy one, autozone has one in their loan a tool program that works just fine. You will need a seal kit, which will come with three big o-rings and four small o-rings. The three large o-rings are for the body of the compressor, the four small ones go to the manifold. The shaft seal is a tricky one. I ordered two different kits and they were both wrong. You can just take your shaft seal out and replace the o-rings with any R134a safe o-ring and not buy a shaft seal kit. Here's what your shaft seal kit should look like:

This is what you get if you buy one:

The shaft seal housing is too short. You can just pop the black part off and replace the o-ring inside. If you buy the shaft seal kit (like I did), you can take the o-ring out of the new housing and put it into yours. The other piece is right. But you can see the green o-rings in the second pic, so you can just replace those and not buy the kit. If you have any other questions just let me know!

Thank You very much for the information. When you installed the shaft seal did you use a shaft protector? I understand that the seal can be tricky and can easily be damaged during installation.

Nope, not necessary on these. The threaded part of the shaft is very small and it's got a smooth taper, so the housing slides right on. Just use plenty of R134a compatible oil (that is if you're converting it) on everything and it should slide together easily!
