944 S2 for sale / WTB parts
Hi there,
I have a 944 S2 1990 for sale (details below) It needs some minor bits and I am trying to get it cosmetically ready for sale: Passenger seat (Black leather power), center console lid black, cargo cover. If you are interested in buying the car ($8,500 as is), or have the appropriate parts please mail me. my email mwynn@ix.netcom.com thanks Mike White exterior black interior, electric black leather front seats (forwards/backwards and up & down). All the normal stuff. I have done about 7k miles in the car since its purchase (it is a second/third car). It now has 128k miles full documented service history (up to last 7k). I had the cam belt done (Dieters), with new water pump, and all new tensioners and rollers. During my ownership I have also carried out the routine maintenance (oil change, filter, air filter, plugs) and fitted new front rotors, It has lived under a car cover or in the garage and paint looks good. It is in great condition with the exception of the following minor issues: Passenger seat stitching is letting go Gear knob leather shows wear Armrest center console needs recovering Minor (minor) ding low down on front of drivers side sill Luggage cover needs replacing |

Have you replaced the cam chain tensioner (or at least the ramp)?
The S2s are notorious for cam chain tensioner failure. |

timing belt tensioner
Hello,
I have a receipt from Dieters (a local San Diego Porsche independent) for $1256 replace cam belt balance shaft belt, counter shaft rollers, tensioner roller, resealed front of motor, replaced coolant hose from heater valve to water pump, replaced water pump. Basically a complete front end rebuild. This happened at about 121k. I hope that helps, regards mike |
