Technodyne Bilstein Dual Rate Spring Set up

60mm (21/4") track set up originally supplied by Chris Cervelli of Technodyne. The kit was supplied for a 944 Turbo running stock torsion bars and Bilstein Escort front and rear shocks. Chris was one of the most knowledgeable and fastest 944 guys of the era and spent many hours of testing in the quest for the 'perfect track set up'. The kit was supplied with a custom valving spec which is different both front and rear to that supplied as stock by Bilstein. Technodyne valving spec will be supplied to buyer.

Spring set up and ratings may also suit 964 Cup Car. Please check before purchasing.

The original invoice was supplied with mainspring ratings 140/60/220 rear and 140/60/200 front. This was changed to suit driver preference to 140/60/240 and 140/60/160 front.

Set up was used for 2001/2002 season and then kept in dry storage.

Kit comes with tender springs 60/60/30 front and 40/60/40 rear. Also included are 2 front upper perches, 4 mid perches to separate main/tender springs and 4 adjustable lower perches. This set up cost $935 in 1991 and a eibach dual rate spring set up would be closer to $2000 today.

In case someone is not clear on the numbers provided for the springs, this is how they translate in SAE numbers:

140/60/240 => 5.51" x 2.36" x 1371 lbs/in
140/60/160 => 5.51" x 2.36" x 914 lbs/in
60/60/30 => 4.78" x 2.36" x 171 lbs/in
40/60/40 => 2.96" x 2.36 x 228 lbs/in

Thanks for the input and conversion Dimi ... and whilst these seem super stiff it is the combination of the stiff with the relatively softer helper springs that make it a hot set up. I have discussed it with Chris Cervelli and the guy I got the set up from and both spoke very positively about it for track use. It is however too extreme for road use.
