FS '87 944 control arm/A-arm/Wishbone - needs rebuild and not rebuildable
'87 944 control arm/A-arm/Wishbone - needs rebuild and not rebuildable.
I tried to use the Rennbay kit - will not work. There's some exotic method but not for me. I put one drill hole in the center of the bottom face of the ball joint. a divot was made in the edge where I was looking for the clip but never found it. best offer - 10 bucks plus shipping would be nice.

That type is not rebuildable. The aluminum has been rolled over the ball joint assembly.
That is unless you have a very capable machine shop do the modifications.

Guys,
See the extra mounting tab at the front of the control arm? That's a 968 arm - not rebuildable - and the tab is for the brake cooling air director.

Right - I started a thread about this. A couple users suggested it was possible but I was skeptical.
... so should I remove this item as absolute trash and unsellable? |

If the joint is not tight, garbage.

Not trash. recyclable. We recycle all metals from the shop. Steel, copper wires, alum, cat converters, everything. You might not be lucky enough to have a place near enough to you?

Yes of course I meant "garbage" in the broad sense. Perhaps I can make a lamp out of it.
Thanks everyone. |

Best guess is it's a lot stronger support for the ball joint.
