Since you asked, based on the photos IMHO what you have are rebuildable frames. These will require a complete recover and likely a rebuild of the cushion/padding. The hinge covers are missing, the release latch and rose are also MIA. Can't see the underside to determine the extent of condition of the seat hardware - my SWAG is that the hardware is rusted and will require work to bring back up to decent condition as well.
It will require an extensive amount of effort (read $$$$) to return these back to usable condition. Of course, as they say - there is a buyer for every price. |

Wellwood. Don't see where I asked but since you opened a can of worms here we go:
I have and will supply ALL the plastic covers and release knobs. The word core means rebuildable and I used the word core. No one recovers seats without building up the foam to cover previous shrinkage. Part of every quality restoration of seats. I've had and sold more sets of sport seats than anyone on this wonderful planet including every dismantler and this said I'm qualified to know what a core seat is. I'm a good seller here and stand behind every sale. Not selling anything that doesn't work as it should. Latches work now. Cleaning and painting frames are part of "seat restoration" and if you don't have the funds or know how buy some either when you can afford them or when you have a better understanding of what it takes to restore a pair of seats. Or not at all! The part about adding up to a lot of $$, ??? What on a Porsche is cheap? Air in tires?? Please, if you can't afford the cheapest set of rebuildable sport seats on the planet and DIY or pay someone to cover them don't window shop or kick tires on my seats pls. 600.00 incase anyone is looking for sport seat cores. Complete with plastic covers in working order. Need restored and likely are over priced according to recent expert appraisal. Smh... |
