Help on AFR adjuster
Hello,
Trying to resurrect 79 928 with the kjetronic CIS. Going through the 'how to get it running" literature from Porshe 928-Bosche k-Jet CIS Baseline Tuning. Got to the third procedure which gives a starting point for the air fuel mixture adjustment. Directions were to turn screw counter clockwise until it stopped and then turn clockwise (with fuel pump jumped and running) around 11-15 turns until injectors moving fuel is heard. Then back off about half a turn. Directions state that turning the screw clockwise too far will disengage the screw. I went counter clockwise for many turns and it never stopped or felt like it was doing anything. Thinking PO went too far clockwise or perhaps I have done something I shouldn't have. Either way, can I pull the two screws that hold the spring loaded engagement device without worry of losing something inside. Is there a danger of the adjusting screw inside coming out? Can somebody walk me through getting the air plate off and make sure everything is where it is supposed to be? Don't really want to take whole distribution unit off car if I don't have to. Anybody had this problem? Is there anyway the plate arm can come away from the control piston? Thanks |
