S4 A/C Revival
Hi all,
Since purchasing the car the A/C hasn't worked...so, since 2009 in my hands. I have never dug into it. I now want a bit more daily drive so going to have it sorted. Would love some thoughts on whether I should just replace the condenser, compressor, etc., (is a kit available for the conversion?) or should I just wait and see what comes of the initial assessment in a couple of weeks? I can only guess that seals, o-rings, etc., would be crap at this point. Any help on direction would be greatly appreciated! Mat

hey mat - i was in a similar situation about 8 years ago - being a pretty strict DIYer i wound up getting a compressor rebuild kit and all new rubber lines and the dryer - i got just the raw hoses and reused the metal connectors at the ends with barrel type clamps - vaccumed the system out and filled it - been blowing very cold for all this time - good luck

Hi,
I will likely have a better look at the hoses dryer, etc., as you mentioned this week, and maybe just source those now to make sure they are new, but I am very limited on time this spring so I can't dig into the rebuild myself. Wish I could... Thanks! Mat
