Modified wevo shift coupler for 928

Hey y’all, thought I would share this for anyone who cares. Working with a friend on his 79’ 928, and after realizing that I couldn’t find a 928 shift coupler like the one I used on my 911 I decided to modify one so it can never wear out.

The 928 splined shaft is larger than the 911, so I parted it off and bored the center out to 11mm.

Disassembled the wevo coupler and machined down the 911 splined stub to 11mm OD and pressed the 928 splined stub over it and silver soldered the ends.

The end where the transmission selector comes out needed to also be enlarged from 15mm to 16mm. So again chucked up in the lathe using a 4 Jaw as it was offset center and bored out.

Reassembled and installed in the car.

Worked out great!
