Porsche Crest revising engine mounts

Wondering if anyone knows about using engine mounts from a ford which are cheaper and installing them into a 928, someone had told me that they had a shop install them, they were cheaper, stronger, and looked the same as the originals. Wondering if anyone has done this and what vehicle these mounts would be from?thanks

I've heard that too. I think it's the mounts from a ford truck. A ranger or f-150. 80s or 90's type vintage.

Typr a google search. I came across a write up once but have since forgot the specifics.

But it is the real deal.

They are Anchor #2698 mounts. i did not use them. Used solid rubber mounts instead. That way I do not have to worry about losing the hydralic function.

The Anchor mounts work fine. You have to have an 83+ to use them or change out the crossmember to use the newer style mounts on older cars. You'll also need the motor mount plates if doing this on an older car.

NAPA #602-1686, or 612-1686 for a solid version of the same

Go to Rennlist, you'll find scads of info on 928's, and this topic in particular.
