aluminum intake tube?
I was wondering if there is anything wrong with using aluminum flex hose for the intakes?I tried a pair just to see but they seem to get pretty warm thus defeating the purpose of cooler air entering the intake. Also what is the purpose of the tubes being connected to the timing cover?

The aluminum tubes shouldn't cause a higher intake temp than the stock black tubes since the heat absorbsion is minimal due to the rapid air movement. The tubes could be wrapped with an insulation material to further minimize the transfer.
The belt cover holes are there to pull fresh air past the timing belt. This removes any generated heat and, I have heard, ozone that can cause rapid deterioration of the belt. Dennis

Anywhere that sells 3" thickwall smooth internal hose. There's a fella on the 928 forums here that is selling kits in 3" Silicone blue hose too. Look in the silicone intake boot thread.
