great deal on low mileage '89 S4, 5 speed!

Seems like a great deal to me. And it's a "new listing", so it won't last long!

Here is the link:

New Owner Reported
When a vehicle is sold to a new owner, the Title must be transferred to the new owner(s) at a Department of Motor Vehicles.

And here are the option codes I got from the seller yesterday: C02, 139, 158, 220 (sweet!), 302, 418, 481, 570 and finally, 650.

I asked the seller absolutely everything about the car. The only original piece of equipment he's missing the cargo cover, but still has the original Reno radio and S4 wheels. The front left fender has been replaced because there's no VIN tag present. There's one on every single other panel of the car. The timing belt/water pump service is only 3 years old. It looks like a very nice car, at a very nice price!

Oh, and this is the reason I got banned from Rennlist. For posting great deals like this as a courtesy. Rennlist is one big girls club!

Low Miler.................my pleasure!

P.S. This is such a great site compared to Rennlist. I'll attach some of the e-mails I've had sent to my personal e-mail address after being banned by RandyV, moderator maximus! I'll put them in my other "Screw Rennlist, I'm with you guys now" thread. More fitting. In the meantime, check this one out and you'd better hurry! ^^^^^^

18k would be top $$$ I would spend, and at 18k it would be a really good buy. Does it seam to you that the prices are inching up on the clean examples of these cars? Even S car pricing is moving upwards from what I have seen.

$18K would be a great price indeed for this car. But he did say, $20K was his bottom dollar, so I just figured with a good flogging, it could be bought for $19K, hopefully! I'm just the messenger, so any negotiations will have to be made with the seller............................

Based on what I'm seeing on eBay, it doesn't appear that the prices are inching up. In fact, they appear to be going down. People are listing cars for high prices, but I'm not seeing many of the upper end ones selling.

However, it's a GREAT time to buy a 928...unless you pay way over market on the front end.

Correct you are, sir! I just gave away that black/black '90 GT with 80K on it on Ebay last week for $21,000. And it had 3 timing belt changes plus all kinds of other overserviced items completed in recent history as well including clutch etc.

These cars are dropping in price, and dropping fast. Once GTS 5 speeds with less than 30,000 miles are selling for $5000, then we can all start jumping on 'em!

Until then, hold out, they're continuing to fall..............

As much as we all talk the talk about the value of a 928 that really has all PM current, its not easy to walk the walk.

Someplace in my brain refuses to believe the "needs nothing" car exists, that no matter how good a car looks, it just means the lurking problems haven't been found yet. There aren't that many good reasons to sell a truly trouble free 928 either.

I don't really think prices are moving that much. The market is just really small and fickle, so it doesn't take much to shift it from a buyer or sellers market to the opposite.
