The side skirts look nice on that car. Other than that the spoilers look stock to me, but I could be wrong. The vents look like something I saw in one of the Home Depot isles (Heating and AC section). I would seriously have a body shop get rid of those things, or put a metal plate there and fill it in. Just my opinion.

The S4 Wing (upper) would be the easiest to remove and the other one is more time period for your model. Got pics of the engine and interior? What did you pay? I like it, just a few cosmetic changes that I would make.

I like the sport seats, side skirts, & rear wheel arches. Not sure on the body kit manufacturer, maybe by Jacquemond or American International Racing?

Yeah, I'm w/ MPDano, losing the aftermarket S4/GTS spoiler and the fender vents would look better and going back to stock tail lights too. Nice find though Michael. I always like seeing 928 projects & sharks being brought back to life. Black w/ burgundy interior...I like it!

No the motor looks stock,This car has been sitting about 5 years, changed fuel pump, filter, oil ,plugs, ran 4 cans of seafoam in 4 tanks of gas , have the motor about 85% . new tires next week . what color needs to go on the outside, gave my son black 79 euro ,black is hard to keep clean maybe very dark wine or cherry. Used to show show cars [TIP] run under the car a copper wire to the frame and to a metal plate laying on the ground , takes elec. from the surface of the car to the ground. It works

style?

Wow...somebody out there had interesting tastes. Loose the upper spoiler and the tail lights. Interior is nice and body is straight. After washing it I would try some 800 grit sandpaper to take off what is left of the clearcoat (lightly), then wet sand 1000 grit as a prep, tack and spray some quality clearcoat. Do this on an test area (like the upper spoiler after you take it off) and see if you can bring back the paint. If you don't have service records, think about a Timing belt and go over the brakes at a minimum. 5 years is a long time to sit. Suck out the old brake fluid and add fresh stuff. budget a bit to give it a full going over.

Do you like the rims? they are not my flavor, but they kinda work on the car. Since the dryer vents are already there and I assume hooked up. keep em for a bit. Removing them would leave gaping holes and can wait for a while (besides, we can give you a nick name like "the maytag man" ) . Focus on the mechanicals. Have you had it checked out by a 928 person, in person? There is a lot to these cars and experienced folk are well worth the cost of a drive and a few beers.

I found the RL sticky to have lots of good info. Read it if you haven't already. Check and clean the ground per that thread.

vents

Just came in from the garage ,vents are gone The wheels kind of grow on you .centers would have to be gray. Everything works on this car even door locks, need two taillight lens . On these vents ,they were vented to the front under the car, maybe someone told the last owner that it would help to keep the car on the ground [GRIN] We all know what a 928 does as we get faster. Just ask some local law.

Yes you're right about that, takes more work to keep clean & preventing them swirls. I actually like your dark wine/cherry color idea. Not as common as black or red. Check these out:

"Check these out:".....Ohhh, ahhh...niiice.
yea, It takes a boatload of time and patience, but I have brought back worse. It won't look as pretty as THAT paint job. but, you can do wonders. The trick is to work slowly and carefully. Remove only as much paint as you have to and as much clear coat as you can. Getting it wet lets you have a better idea of what it will look like with the clearcoat. rinse often. I use a spray bottle to keep it all wet and a hose to rinse. You can even use cutting compound and a buffer for a final polish before spraying, but it takes forever. Spray the clear in as dust free an environment as possible. Match Clear to the paint (laquer v. enamel) and wet sand (800, 1000, or finer) again between coats of clear. 2 is good. you can go 3, but usually not worth it.

Aww shucks...

Come on now, you are embarrassing me. Seriously though...Sanding down and renewing clear coat is not a job that requires talent. I had a honda with flaking clear coat and decided to "fix it" after seeing a youtube video called a 5 dollar paint job (or something like that). I had a buddy who was into auto paint and HE was good at it. I never had the touch, my sprays were always uneven and looked crummy. I fixed up a Mitsubisi paint job just like I described above because I was bored and the owner was broke. The cost of sandpaper and clearcoat was my Xmass gift to him. Like I said, it takes forever. But, we were just hanging out and the old paint job was pretty much shot so we gave it a whirl. Like I said, it is not perfect because there is uneven oxidation and you will see some irregularities, but It looked fantastic in comparison and pretty darn good unless you got really close.
