928 ww mason fine
Well I bought an injector from Mason on the 7th of july through EBAY, it arrived on the 24th finaly.
What did I get after waiting 17 days for it to arrive? A totally useless injector! I would have gladly paid 3X for a new one that I would have got within a week. I have delt with 100's of ebayers through out the years with out a problem as bad as this. Lucky, I think not! DO NOT DEAL WITH MASON FINE AKA 928 WORLD WIDE due to poor business practices and ethics! Sorry Mason, absolutely NO EXCUSE! Dave Davemrk on ebay (100%)

so did you follow up with him about the part, or is this an unresolved customer service issue?

I have have seen and heard from a few of my customers some poor business dealings as well.
WW isnt on my go to list anymore. I was suggesting to people to try them out. Big mistake. I made an offer on Ebay for a relay that was he selling for 49.00 its used ,probably not tested and on and on...... I went to 928INTL, there used part was 35.00. I offered WW 10.00 for the relay . counteroffer was 45.00. ( This due to the fact of the other relay being the ad on top of the WW ad on E bay) I bought one from another seller on Ebay for 9.99 used but working......go figure...... All of this BS about beating everyones prices. FWIW if you need something dont go there first, in fact dont go there last...... Could it Possibly be due to me being on the Rlist??.... Now that would be mature On the other hand I just got a set of used E brake shoes for the 928 from 928 International, and but for a bit of brake dust on them, they looked brand new. I couldnt believe the how nice these used parts were, I sent Mark a letter letting him know what kind of quality operation he has and how he is showing up. Well done Mark and crew! This is definitely a company I would recommend to my customers. The relay that was purchased from Ebay on Monday night , arrived today (Friday), came from Oregon, simple plug and play

Open the discussion directly with Mason. Ask him to refund the $ and costs. Offer to send the dufo part back to him at his expense if he needs it. It's not fair bashing him without giving him a chance to make things right.
------ One of the joys of dealing with 928 Int'l is that they have a stellar reputation, and that is one that's earned and protected by great CS. Parts ship the day you order them, are pulled and packed by pro's, and there's a real guarantee even on used parts. It takes some folks a while to learn that there's more to business than 'lowest prices'. Best value is a total experience with price, service, delivery, support, warranty. Mason should be able to carve out a share of the east coast used parts market for himself, based on possible great local service. Just need to get that great local service going, then follow that up with the great out-of-local-area sales/service too. Call him, point him to this thread, and let him know that you will write the epilogue based on his actions. Remind hime that he needs to respond with corrective ACTION, and he should NOT reply to this thread at all. JMHO, of course.

I hear a lot of complaints about this guy and some of the crap he peddles, but I don't see a commensurate amount of negative feedback on his ebay account. Buyers who withhold feedback, either positive or negative, aren't helping the system to function as it should. Potential buyers need to see the whole picture to help them with a bidding/purchasing decision.
Pay the extra few bucks and get parts from a reliable source. We hear complaints all the time about 928 prices circling the drain, yet some people will always go to the very cheapest source and buy items of questionable value. That's not helping to elevate the values of the 928 fleet, nor does it help to keep vendors in business (let alone grow their business) who have supported our cars for a long time. Does Jim Bailey's situation ring a bell? Last edited by rogue; 07-24-2009 at 06:15 PM.. |

Well, Mason gave me a call to let me know he'll make it right, and explained his situation. Kudos for that. But if you sell something on Ebay you really need to ship within a week, not much to ask really. I bought a part for the jag on monday and it was on the doorstep on wednesday, an oil pressure switch for $7.95 with free shipping (actual Jag part).
Mason really seems to be a stand up guy so I will give him another chance for sure. Dave

yeah, the part in the picture isn't good at all--
ww should follow up with a good part at the least. I've shipped some "less than great" parts before, but with absolute disclosure to the best of my ability. sometimes, the parts are not what we want them to be, but it's better to disclose any discrepancies if possible. hopefully, Mason will make it right for you. --Russ

Speaking of the East Coast, there is a vendor there that I did some business with but will not anymore unless it is absolutely necessary. Here's why:
I ordered a used driver's elec. door lock switch. It worked one time, got hot, and seized up. I ordered a used brake booster, and it was bad. Didn't find that out until I had ALREADY PUT IT ON. So then had to take IT off, and order a new one, and put that one on. Twice the work and hassle. I ordered a used steering column switch and it HAD A HOLE IN THE HORN CONTACT which meant I had to solder it. They "misplaced" another order of mine for the inner door handle plate and some other stuff. I had taken off from work for a few days so my father and I could get some work done on the car; but no parts showed up and so I wasted vacation days. Th east coast is definitely in need of a good vendor!

Mason IS a stand up guy and will stand behind everything he sells. Here is teh problem:
928int. is NORMALLY much higher prices on used parts, BUT they come with a year warranty (and obviously have excellent CS). For this warranty they must test and clean up EVERYTHING they sell to stand behind it. Mason's prices are usually lower, but lacks the time Mark and crew spend going through them (which is passed onto you). He will stand behind the parts and such, but it is still a pain in the ass to get the problem rectified. Bottom line is Mason is an excellent source for many 928 owners, but know what your getting into..... |

When you have to return a broken part it wastes time and money for everyone involved, I think that your advice is well said but I think that Mason should have thought a bit more about knowing what he was getting into...
True fact owners of the 928 are usually looking for inexpensive parts, that said , finding said parts, owners are still looking for parts that are in good condition

This complaint is valid- the part in the photo should not have been shipped;
unfortunately the damage on the small tip of the injector went through shipping unnoticed. We have a nice pile of these and never would have shipped one like this intentionally. I would also add that the customer was unaware of the 1 yr warranty that all 928ww parts are covered by....(all but trans, motor). We are sending one express to him tomorrow... if he would have called me this afternoon while I was still at the shop- I would have had it sent out today. We're totally customer service oriented....I always honor our warranty. Regards, Mason Last edited by 928worldwide; 07-25-2009 at 01:27 AM.. |

we all should just contact the vendor first. I am seeing (for some time now) that some are quick to publicly trash a vendor (not so much here but on other forums) before the vendor has a chance to have a cup of coffee..... b**** later (if not satisfied), or give thanks (where thanks are due). it's better for everyone. ![]() --Russ

This is a good opportunity to let people know what's real- so I'll take it. I will beat any (used parts) price. How will I beat a price if you (or anyone) doesn't tell me what to beat !? #1 I will make special deals for people who know me, and ID themselves. How was I supposed to know it was you offering me $10.00 ??? My crystal ball was on vacation that day in the Bahamas. If you said "It's Mr. Merlin Mason, here's my offer" I would have accepted. #2 I Do still sell to RL members, although no more discounts there.... #3 If you're going to compare me to another dealer, make sure to do it honestly and fairly. Are the prices delivered? Does the other guy ship everything they sell no matter what for FREE; (to usa, not large and heavy items) like we do? Just saying.... #4

The injector went through several hands before it got to the customer, from being removed from the vehicle, inventoried, put on a shelf, pulled for shipment, and finally to being boxed up . Lots of hands touched it and lots of eyes saw it's condition along the way. I don't mean to bust your chops here, but I'm sure many others reading this thread think it's great you have a warranty that you back up, but expect to receive a "working pull" when they buy a used part from you. |

Good question.
This mistake happens too many times we're not around too long! ![]() It's just a goof up-it happens sometimes, thankfully not too often. You're right, a few hands did touch the part. We had them packed with the label and it was hiding the tips. We'll be looking closer at all of the items, to insure quality for you guys. We work too hard to lose any relationship. Paying double the shipping, and for overnight hurts too...But making it right feels so good!
