What's up with 928GT.com?

I was on there just a second ago, trying to search for parts. I cannot make it work! I'm on a MAC, but I cannot think that could make a differnence, sinc I logged onto 928 GT a week ago. I need to buy timing belt parts, and I bought them from the folks in North Carolina in 2003, the last time I had this job done. Their website leaves a bit to be desired! I cannot now figure out how to contact anyone. I used to be able to shop parts there, but now nothing comes up. Last week I was able to pull up complete new timing belt kit. This week I can't pull up anything- their website is so damn hard to use it might double for a morgue! Since it is impossible to search on their place online, i'll just shop at www.928motorsports.com. Carl has plenty of nice parts. If the folks in NC can't get their act together, then there is no reason to buy from them or to go to their meet in western North Carolina.

N!

I just tried it a third time. I can open my airline pilot posts, and my historical society posts. But not this particular Pelican Parts post.

-Is it possible that I have reached some sort of inconceivable level of constipation? My tennant has been giving us words [legally] up to this point. So online I've been attacked tonight, but now this? I don't know if my llaptop is screwing up or what?

Normy, are you entering the site with the alternate "click here" needed if you are using Firefox on a PC or a MAC?

The site works for me, although Dangler's link doesn't. LOL

Presumably you did read the box below the "Click to Enter" link?

The one that says "MAC, Netscape and Mozilla/Firefoz users should click here for best results", as the site is designed for IE 5.5 and higher? It also says Mac users should use Safari or Mozilla.

Of course, given you're posting it on this forum, maybe you could buy the parts you need from Pelican?

Thanks Xlot...at least I know some people can read! J/K :-)

On a serious note it could be some sort of DNS or server issue and I will investigate!

Cheers!

Actually my increasing health problems the past 2+ years has lost me more customers than anything. Kind of hard to get things done you need to, when you spend 6-8 weeks at time bed ridden.

FWIW, If it wasn't for Jeannie and my website I wouldn't be able to pay for my meds and I would have been gone over a year ago.

My website hasn't lost me customers, I have, my website has literally kept me alive along with my incredible wife and one specific Doctor (who happens to also be a fellow 928er).

But, thanks for your sincere concerns, it mean a lot when a guy is under the weather for so long! Makes me feel all fuzzy inside when the 928ers that I have dedicated my life to the past 2 decades really care!

Cheers!

Well it just opened for me. I don't know what was going on. Last night I even pulled my old Sony Vaio laptop into the fray, and it couldn't open Dave and Jeanny's website.

[Were the gods mad at me? I was supposed to spend the weekend in Greenville, SC, and rent a car and drive up to Asheville, NC, where my parents live. But the airplane broke down in Fort Lauderdale Friday night, and I wasn't able to make my trip. At my company, there is no "jeapardy" if you ride a company aircraft into the hub and it breaks down- they just take you off the trip and assign it to a reserve. Of course that means that you lose the pay for that trip~]

-I just spent $540 on new tires for my 928.
-On impulse, I spent $460 on various parts at 928 Motorsports last night~

That's the way to do it! If you know you've just lost some revenue, then you might as well do it RIGHT and put an even bigger dent in your wallet! Guess I'll be eating pasta without sauce for the next month or so~

I just wanted to say that when it comes to hardcore parts, I ALWAYS patronize your site!

Dave and Jeannie: I call to order something, I usually wind up with Jeannie on the the phone:

"Ow yeah...hows your momma doing?"

"You know she's raht...you need to get up hee-are and vee-sit her!"

Heh heh! Great place, and a great couple, Dave and Jeannie Roberts!
