Valve train

Im having alot of valve train noise after I installed an engine that was sitting around for years.
How long does it take for the hydrolic lifters to charge up after a long sitting?

Parts

By the way, I have aquired alot of engine parts (more than I need).

All the parts are from 81 to 82 fuel injection, manifold, AFM, FP regulators.....just about everything that sits on top of the engine plus 1 clutch set.

Cheap!

Ive had real good luck with Risilone for quieting noisy valve trane in a variety of engines. My dad introduced me to the stuff about 25 years ago.

I used the Marvel Mystery on a noisy motor and it took maybe 30 minutes before it started to really reduce the noise. Kind of a three stage, first started very noisy, but got less scary within a minute or so, added MM and let it fully warm up, and big reduction within 30 min, but may have taken a day or so to fully quiet down.

BTW the loud clicking sound are the injectors, they all open and close at the same time, which makes a fair amount of noise.
