What is this hose?

I'm having a hard time finding the part number for this one. Comes out of the regulator housing. Any help is greatly appreciated!

actually it comes off the bridge that the regulator is screwed to, and ends up at the coolant tank. I think its just to help the system bleed off air. Its ordinary coolant hose. Just take it to an autoparts store, they will probably have a spool of it you can buy by the foot. There's other pieces like that in there you may as well replace too, i think there's a long one that goes to the top of the radiator too.

Thanks I will try that. Actually this hose has coolant in it and it was connected to something on the throttle body. Based on diagrams I've seen, I thought it was supposed to connect to the radiator expansion tank.



There's a small leaf on where I disconnected this hose in the image.

I would check for you but my car is in the Painters Shop. Your CIS Engine looks pretty clean.

That hose is a coolant line that goes to the right side fender-wall "T" hose connector...it goes to the leg and the two arms go, one to the overflow tank and the other to the radiator top left front. I replaced it when I saw it dripping and during process replaced a lot of vacuum lines including the 5 connector.

Standard overflow hose, 9mm IIRC.

MPDano-Thanks! I've been looking at your paint thread daily! If you do get a chance next time you check, could you take a look?

From what I see on parts diagrams, it seems like this should connect to a t hose connector like Jon (JhwShark) says, but I'm not seeing a disconnected T. I will double check and report back.

After looking at a pic from my engine. I think I do remember it going to a "T" in the line that goes to the radiator and Overflow.

Yes, that's it...originally it rests next to the fender without the bend for the forward run to the radiator, it is a metal "T" not plastic.

I have this feature on mine where the metal T should be. I'm trying to find where I disconnected this hose from. I need to take better pictures!

That's where the T should be. Looks like the PO put that long ass metal tube there. Especially since Porsche didn't use those type of clamps.

Maybe it was disconnected by the PO? Or did you do this? Was this ever running while you had it?

The car came that way. When I got the car, it was turning over, but not starting. This led to pulling everything off the top, now I'm trying to reassemble after getting new injectors, plugs, gaskets, most of the hoses, and cleaning out the CIS lines to the injectors. I didn't notice the plenum flooded with coolant when I disconnected things.

So what the heck is supposed to connect to this part?

What's that part on the sway bar? Is that the #4 Diverter Valve? From what I can see, my car does not that or the #2 Barometric Control unit. I remember reading a post about the Deceleration Valve, mine is capped, along with where #2 would connect to the throttle housing.

Am I reading this correctly? It looks like I need 2 vacuum hoses for the control pressure regulator. I have a new one already, but looks like I need a second piece.

The device on the crossbar is for the AC...Supplemental Air Valve. I'll try and find pics...of the '79 should be similar...

I believe what you circled in red comes from the WUR??

I was just outside with manual in hand, and was thinking the same thing-so are there 2 vacuum lines from the WUR? There's 2 metal fuel lines, and on the top where the electrical connects, I have I think a plugged vacuum line. Let me take a pic and post it, easier than trying to describe it!

Here's my WUR, the vacuum hose from the circled part connects to the throttle in the second pic. I also know this because the original line was baked solid and is basically fossilized with the bends in it.

The capped connection on the WUR, what is it? Is that where another hose should come off of and connect to the throttle housing?

The WUR angle on MPDano's car is different, and there's clearly a hose coming off the top where mine is capped.
