The site said a fan is not needed above 45 mph, I guess they were just pointing that out.

You dont have to spend $475 on an electric fan from a 928 shop, if you google shop "12v electric fan" (without quotes), you can buy a good 2000 cfm electric fan for under $30 plus shipping. In fact there is one I am looking at that is a 16 inch 2000 cfm electric fan for $25 which looks EXACTLY like the one they are selling at 928 MS for $475. You could mount that on the radiator and use a temp sensor in the radiator output (cold side) and a relay. For $24 plus shipping there is the "Hayden - Econo Adjustable Electric Radiator Fan Thermostat" that has a temp probe you slip in the radiator output line and an adjustable controller. There are also other styles of adjustable radiator fan controllers if you don't like that style of temp probe.
I am using the temp sensor for the old A/C aux fan since My A/C doesnt work either (the one on the bottom of the radiator), and a relay. Just some ideas, -Anthony. |

Yeah I have a derale 2175 cfm 16 inch fan I fabricated my own custom mounts because I didn't like the through-radiator mounts. Just didn't like the thought of placing weight on the fins and tubes. I mounted it right up against the radiator and it works great but I am going to make a custom cowling for it later.
here is the $30 fan. Amazon.com: PROCOMP 16" INCH ELECTRIC COOLING AUTOMOTIVE RADIATOR FAN 12 VOLT (CURVED): Automotive |
I'm really digging how the car pulls now without that load from the pump and compressor.
