tow dolly
I have a manual transmission and would like to use a tow dolly to pull the car about 1500 miles. Any issues with leaving it in neutral and that many miles?

put it on a trailer a transmission is very expensive .
Part of the trans will be spinning and the driveshaft wont be , that mans one or more of the bearings in the transmission may fail from this unusual load. Put it on a trailer or tow it with the rear wheels on the dolly and remove the spoiler

I'm with Merlin on this one. I've done short tows on a Tow Dolly, but on a long haul, just rent a UHaul Flatbed Dolly. Double Axles make's it an easy haul.

Here is what I ended up doing. The trip was 1500 miles (NY to Houston). I locked the column and then tied off the bottom spoke of the steering wheel to the brake and the left spoke of the steering wheel to the passenger door handle just in case:
![]() I did have 2 issues. One time I forgot to press the hatch down enough to latch it and it flew open once. Also, my exhaust pipe separated from the resonator. I found a place close to the Suites I am staying at the fixed up my exhaust. I decided to remove the resonator and rear pumpkin and go straight back to dual tips. It sounds AWESOME!! Wish I had done that sooner.
