Gauges
Ok...so I notice when I turn the ignition switch "on" the lights come on (like they're suppose to) and all my needle gauges raise from the rested position. Is this a good sign?
The only one that doesn't move is the volt gauge. The red indicator light comes on but the needle don't budge. What could it be???? A bad connection? Help me out my fellow 928's 1982 928 S Thanks |

What about when the car is running? Any Voltage readings? Blip it a little.

I have a working 928 volt gauge in great shape if you want it; let me know.

It might be a bad or unplugged connection to the back of your cluster.

Most likely what it is. See "Common Fixes" Thread.

You guys are right! Bad connection behind cluster. I noticed the plastic that was around the circuit where the wire harness connects has somewhat withered away.
Is there any hope or do I need to buy a new instrument panel? Can it be repaired? |

New flex circuit board used to be around $100, but a few years are NLA now I think. Minor fixes can be done directly on the board, and some have completely rewired them.
Sorry google says .... 928 641 973 01 82 to 84 Out of stock I did find a place showing they had them, but until its confirmed I am assuming its a typical inv glitch. |
