Tell me what you see (underbody and engine)
I have this going over on Rennlist and 928OC, but I'd like for you gurus to give me feedback on what you see in these pictures as well. It's an 84 US 928S auto w/104k miles.
The pictures are labeled with a number or letter, so if you notice something, please reference the picture since I am still learning alot about this car. I have alot of mechanical experience with other cars, but this is my first porsche ![]() Since there are ALOT of pictures, I'm just linking to my photobucket album. Thanks for any feedback! I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary. Common leaks and sludge that needs to be power washed to see where the leak actually is. Looks like the Intake is completely un-maintained and will need a Complete Intake Refresh. Mileage seems low but you can never rely on that since the Odo Gear is self destructing.
Some Covers are missing as you can see on #20 Looks like threaded shocks all around, very good. Very Rusty Bolts on #G, gonna be fun to replace these. ATF looks good on #P, at least the level looks normal Alt Bracket on #Z is snapped off the end Washer Fluid Reservoir Cap missing on #16 That's all I can see. Is this an East Coast or Coastal Car? There seems to be a lot of Rust where mine doesn't Rust. Just an Observation. Are you looking to buy this car or did you already buy it?

Thank you so much MPDano! This is my car so I'm already on the road to getting her back in shape. It's an East Coast car, which explains the rust. I have the fender covers, I just took them off to replace the sidemarkers.
As you said, a thorough cleaning will take place very soon. Again, thank you for your observations...more useful than you realize

as a side note. I don't drive the 928 as i have the interceptor that is my very reliable daily. I have budgeted a few Gs to getting her healthy and pretty, so I'm in it for the long run

Pic T looks like a brake pad sensor tied up. They can be a pain. Mine are tied up and bypassed as well. One of these days I'm going to put them back.
