Calif DMV smog test history is online.
Vehicle Test History

Anybody have similar for other states?

I ran 9288100000 thru 9288100060 in the cal smog with no hits, first USA still 9288200022.

Putting 7 blanks in front for autocheck still works, IF there are records. Threw me off that no records gives a invalid vin message, making me think it didn't work anymore.

We found 4 records when we ran a VIN Check on this vehicle. Get the full report to learn more.
VIN: 9288200022
Year:
Make: Porsche

You entered an invalid VIN: 9288200024
Your VIN needs to be:

Exactly 17 characters.
For a vehicle manufactured after 1980 (1981 or later model year.)
Without the letters I, O, or Q.
