Blog

It was suggested that I start a blog for my restoration....I am thinking about it, but not too sure...never blogged before....Also, My fixes might not be as pretty or detailed as Dean's, or some of the other guys. My goal is to get her mechanically sound, then work on the body and interior....I might even drive her a bit in her sad state if I can get it running...

Anyway...anyone interested? Anyone got any blogging tips?...keep in mind, I have little free time, which will be best spent on wrenching, but I will update when I do something of interest to her.

Hi Ron...I think its a great idea. Just start a thread and keep it up to date. I would work the day and before it got too dark , take pics of what I did. Then post up that evening while enjoying an adult beverage. It took just minutes.

On another note...not only will you encourage others....it will give YOU a sense of getting it done a little at a time. Then when you are finally finished with the project, PRINT the thread out for your cars history log. You will have a detailed history of what was done, when and how well ..WITH PICS too. I would suggest anyone do this. It only takes a few minutes at the end of every workday. I promise you will be glad you did. ESPECIALLY on such a historically prominent car as yours.

Thanks Dean...Jim Doerr recommended it, but quite frankly, was hesitant, especially after following your thread...tough act to follow for sure...

I will do it, x2, as you did, probably start as soon as I get the building done and get back to it...

I would like to see a web cam 7/24 so we can, at our leisure, view how you are doing?

Thanks Ron...after awhile updating the thread became just part of the project. It REALLY HELPED me to see how it was progressing and hearing feedback from others. There were times I needed a pat on the back to get up and get back out there.

I'd do it! I wish I had done something like that. I received everyone's help here on the forum and applied a little of everything to get her going. Runs like a raped ape now and I wish I had a little more of a documented step by step. It all bled together in my mind. I'm sorry I didn't put more pics and experiments up on the web as I went along.

I just can't believe that it runs the way it does now. I think I turned so many screws for so long that the powers that be finally gave up and let me have my way.

I am looking forward to your project and will help if I can.

P.S. Plumbers crack will just add to the project. Who knows, some of us might even be able to help you out with that as well.

I couldn't agree more with Dean... just became a part of the process (read habit).

And it's great for referencing. Sometime I just dump info there in a post, so that I know where it is, and can search for it. Frees up my brain.

All new vacuum hoses, plugs removed and cleaned, a squirt of marvel mystery oil in each plug hole, throttle body removed and cleaned, spider cleaned and new couplings, before cranked.

Ron,
I am not sure there is just ONE way but I will tell you how I do it. Up load your video to you-tube. You will have to create an account (free). Then open the video like your anyone wanting to watch that video. Then pause. Copy the entire web location from the upper address bar. Then just Paste that into the reply.

Ron, I think a blog is a great idea. I love seeing what people started with and what they did to get them fixed up and running and what they look like when they're done. That being said, I went to your blog. What I would really like to see there is what you started with - lots of photos. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys. I have a ton of photos, but have been in the middle of moving, and have not had much time to focus on posting any. I have never made a blog before, so that is my first attempt.

I will start posting them to the blog page soon.
