The Crest reminds me of a Red Miata putting a Ferrari Crest on their fenders as well. I'm with Riber, WTF?

They will peel off my Miata Dano. Chill
Fabricating Lexan rear quarter windows and Hatch glass. May shelve them for a while..
Building my lightweight Driver's Ed 928, and it will have decals.
Replacing Porsche Crests with 3" Shell Oil, adding Bilstein decals as well on Lexan once the Bilstein installation is complete.

Wow, lame. A scratch on a car you just painted is no good. You got serious determination too.

I know 13mph is kind of random, i always wondered how they decided on 13.
Maybe they got a deal on the sign.(It is within Haverford College)

Hatch trim installed the other day along with cleaned hatch interior trim. I soldered a loose defroster tab- which was why when i bought the car the P.O. said don't use it or blow a fuse.
Defroster works now, sorry I didn't take pics of that it was a little tricky holding it in place.
Painted used exterior hatch glass trim with satin black single stage enamel, baked it at around 200 F for the night siting 1" over the wood stove then hand compounded it with fine compound and then final glaze by hand to give it a worn look. I did the trim polishing after i installed it for ease.
Used black silicone sealant not what the factory used (was brittle) to seal all trim attachment screws from the inside as it was. No leaks, drove in the rain on the highway last weekend for 45 minutes.

When i came out of the restaurant last weekend it was misting, very light tiny droplets of rain, got in started the car put it in R and couldn't see out the rear window without the wiper i deleted! Guess they are useful in a 928, goes to show Porsche knows what they are doing. My radio still picks up the channels i care about without the heavy power antenae. Going to weigh the car next time i pass the dump site now that it is together.

Merry Christmas 928 drivers.

Looks great. I ordered a set of used hatch trim and expect to get it in the next couple of days. I removed the spoiler last year to bring the car back to original condition and filled in the holes on the trim. It never looked good as the trim was weakened by the holes and the fill cracked.

Can't wait to install the new trim so it looks as good as yours.

I will take pictures when I put it in. Unfortunately I'm in the snowy north and will not have a place to work on it until spring. When I take the old one out I'll get some pictures so everyone can see how it goes together.

Good luck Rick and definitely do not try an install the 4$ a piece hatch trim clips if they are colder than 45F or they will break as you try an snap them onto the back side of the trim. I broke one, walked inside with everything and warmed the clips over the wood stove for 15 minutes and then finished snapping them on.

It is surprising how easily the interior hatch trim re installs and how well it holds after all the years. Also the exterior trim goes in with out difficulty, pulls right down into place with no body paint scratches and seemingly no way of things going wrong. The engineering amazes me as i put parts together that haven't met and boom it goes right in and looks perfect.
The 928 is so well thought out in many ways. Pretty amazing before advanced CAD. Porsche always works it's butt off and does about 98% of things near perfect but a few little things they miss and that is what is focused on. (example: first generation Cayenne)

I took my now gone '86 911 apart to paint like this car and can say the 928 is way easier to restore than a mid 80s Carrera. The front bumper assembly alone on the 911 was absolute hell taking apart and putting back, a million fasteners!! I can really see the Porsche minds at work with the 928 creating an advanced, easily repaired but still of the highest quality sports touring car. I like mine so much i wish it were perfect.
End

Thanks, I'm not surprised the clips break. When I removed the spoiler I ordered one clip to replace one that was damaged. Due to a fulfillment mix up, I ended up getting 10 clips instead of one so I have lots if there is a problem.

When I put mine together, I set the clips in place before snapping the moldings into the slots. This way, I did not have to snap the clips on afterwards as they were already in place. It worked like a charm.

I have a tiny leak somewhere under the moldings so this will be a good opportunity to get it fixed. There were a number of holes drilled through to hold the old spoiler and one of them may be still leaking even though I put silicone on each one.
