plug wires,
Got a set of new plug wires and they did not fit my distributor cap.. My car is an 80, US model.. not sure if the caps are different in the later 928's? But if someone is looking for a set, hit me up, I posted them in the for sale section, but did not draw much attention. Seems like that is pretty stagnant.

Picts and price might help. Through 84 all used pretty much the same wires with a "normal" looking 8 post dist. 85 up used a pair of 4 post dist that mount on the face of the cam gear and have 4 posts sticking up like fingers on a hand.

Maybe my wires are from an 85 or up? the end that sticks onto the distributor is to deep to fit onto my cap..

Ty,
Where did you procure those wires? It seems as if the seller would exchange them if it's one of the regular 928 parts sellers.

ebay... and it was a while ago. It took me a little while to get around changing them, but when I did I realized they were a little off. It is weird because all the lengths are perfect, and they are labeled. I bought another set and they fit, So I just have these hanging here. I will throw them back on ebay I guess, unless someone wants to try them, and pay if they work...

Looking at that bundle it seems too short to reach across the motor, so would need to have dist on same side. Is the other bundle longer so it could reach across?
Plug end looks like 16v, but thats going by memory thinking the 32v is a bigger and longer spark plug end. |

That's what I was thinking, too. But then, why wouldn't they fit on his '84? Maybe you got frankenwires that have 32V distributor ends and 16V spark plug ends?

son of a B#&^
plug ends all worked on my 80, and everything lined up fine. The DIst ends were to deep, as well as the ignition wire was a little different.

The separators holding them together look like 32V. I haven't seen those on a 16v
