928 transmission fluid

I have a 1981 automatic 928. The hose from the transmission to the radiator blew this summer. After 2 months of looking for a replacement part I finally got a new one made. My problem is I do not know where to put the transmission fluid in the car. There is a picture in the owners manual but I can't find the real place to put it in. Since the car can't be moved I can't take it anywhere.

please help

Dave

Tranny Fluid is put into the reservoir on the passenger side of the transaxle (near the rear). You'll need the car up on stands and running to do this properly. You'll need some sort of pump to get the fluid from bottle to reservoir. I use a manual pump bought at the local parts store.

You may not be seeing the reservoir because it is probably coated in grease. It is a small reservoir that is mounted on the right side of the transmission. It has a red cover threaded to the top of it.

Where did you get the hose made, i currently have a hose with a hole in it and would really like a solid piece.

It also i think is the one that goes from the radiator to the trans.

Pick up a a hand pump pressurized pesticide sprayer 1-3 gallon capacity. Can adapt a hose to it, ot light heat the plastic wand, and shape it to a slight u bend.

Just use it for trans...

$20 maybe. Lasts as long as you take care of it.

The front hose can be replaced by using a dremel and cutting off the sleaves that crimp the hose on the barbs.

I used a transmission line kit from Autozone (Metric 10mm) and Fuel Injection clamps. THe front section does not need the heat resistance the mid and rear sections need, and this has worked well for me.

If you are on Rennlist look in my Galery (or register on rennlist and look at my gallery album (dcrasta)) Took me 1 hour to do. I had the use of a lift however you can jack the front of the car up to do this.

You will need to top off the fluid once you are done .

I went to a local truck repair place and they made me one copying the old one. Charged me $34 which wasn't bad I thought.
