HI ALLI.m new owner of 1988 S4 Auto (just 3 months). 1. Car runs fine but my oil pressure gauge is stuck on5 at all time (engine off or on ).Will that be due to faulty oil pressure sender? or crossed wires? 2. DRIVER side door switch has no wire.How do i find wire inside fender? Please help |

swap the wires at the sender then you should see when you tun on the key the low oil pressure light illuminate and the gauge read zero before you crank it.
If you dont see these indications after swapping the wires then the sender is bad. For the pin switch in the door pillar get a thin piece of wire and bend it into a hook slip it inside the pin hole and try to grab the wire you may be able to get to the wire by getting behind the carpet next to the hood release its a brown /white stripe wire

Wires (oil pressure switch)were crossed.now gauge drops to 0 with engine off and jump to 5 after start.Will replace sender next. Pin switch wire was pulled inside , founded by hood release (exactly like you pointed)---. FIXED My central lock system works now hurreyyyyyy Next will be trunk release,engine turns but nothing happened,it keeps spinning,had to unplug it.Took it apart but have no clue how it works.Engine arm turns moves little bracket close to trunk switch but how it suppose to release it?Maybe i.m missing something? |

OK good on fixing the previous things. Now for the hatch
you have two problems.' 1... the hatch wont release this can be cured by installing a new lower latch collar a few vendors have this part, this will keep the latch in the right position to be able to be unlatched. If fitting this part doesnt work , then try moving the motor up and down a small amount in its adjusters, if no good then try adding a piece of zip tie to the rear edge of the male latch this will tilt it forward. Loosen the male latch bolts and slide the tie in the rear edge then tighten the bolts. 2 the motor keeps running. First make sure that the fuses are good for the hatch there is one thats a 1 amp and another one. If the fuses are good... Next there is a diode that has failed internal to the hatch motor, the diode can be swapped out and then the motor will work as it should, do a search for 928 hatch motor diode repair

Hi Merlin
Thank you for your help.Last night went back to the garage and took everything apart again.Little engine(after a few adjustments up and dawn) does release hutch but spring looks like it is to weak to poop it open ,with a little help it does.When hutch is open engine wont stop,keeps spinning.Gona check your link.Was thinking that doom lights ,ones engaged turns off hutch motor. Open hutch turn on only door lights but not doom lights .Gone check fuses today.Doom lights have power.they work manually .I.m home today ,gona read all your links ,hope is just a fuse.
