Rear bumper compatibility
Just curious whether or not the later S4 model rear bumpers will fit on earlier cars (i.e. S2)

It will require cutting the rear quarter fenders as the S4 bumper has a return to the wheel well the early bumper does not.
You will also have to splice in new tail light wires for the S4 lights.

you will also have to modify the light housing indentations on the chassis to fit the protrusions on the later S4 bumper,
otherwise the rear of the PU cover will not fully insert to position , its a bit of work to make this modification, Next question is why would you do this to begin with? the early rear bumpers have a coolness about them the later S4 series has lost IMHO

My mind was drifting away from work towards 928 projects (as it tends to do on a sunny Friday). I think I'll cross this off my list as I have plenty of other jobs to do on the car, like putting the engine back in, for example. |
