Rods 83 Euro Restore to DD staus

Well Rods Euro got dropped off this morning.
As I was laying in bed watching Overhauling I hear this rumble and the walls are shaking the windows rattlin,
Jump outa bed toss on some clothes and out the door,
there is this really shiny Mossgreen 928 ,
with the silence restored to my little piece of the world, I say hello to Matt the now PO
I can see some PS fluid is leaking on the street ,
the hood pads gone ,
the paint has smears in it from a quicky wax job,
the interior looks pretty good, the paint will shine up very well, this car has lots a promise,
A quick drive up the street confirms it runs and stops and feels pretty tight 2nd gear syncro is a bit worn but aren't they all.
One small paint chip on the hood and one smaller one on the rear edge of the hatch amazing condition.

So here is the restore it to DD status thread.

Cool, Stan. I'm sure this car brings back memories of the last Mossgreen 928 that you restored to DD status. I hope you enjoy working on it. Does this mean the Land Rover gets parked outside for the time being?

Looks like a great buy for the new owner.

I don't recall ever seeing a red crank dampener before, all the Euro S I've seen were green, but I think I have only seen 84+ no CI$.

Did the 83 require cats for federalizing? Thinking intact Euro is going to be really hard to find, but maybe you could recreate a Euro S exhaust?

The early Euro S had a red crank dampener. Euro S2 had a green dampener. I've only ever seen one CIS Euro S in person. It looked like it was poorly federalized. This car looks much better.

Yes the Rover will be taking up driveway space now that the new project has landed.

Maybe will have to get an ex system fabbed up,
the one thats on it now is really bad even though its new.
I just found out it still has the ALUminum lower BJs

Marker lights behind the front wheels, third light in the rear to the left of license plate, then tech stuff like motor ID and vin.

I guess those will be added to the list of parts to update then. I still can't believe any car maker ever used those, let alone Porsche.

Get an X-pipe and a RMB, and you're half way there!

Are there any good pictures of CIS Euro S factory exhaust?

The horrible pumpkin is a given, but is it a dual or single, and more important how are the pipes routed? I don't think its the same as the later duals.

the early Euro had a Siamese twin pipe system it was really quite nice I found one for my 84 Euro and then fitted an X pipe and it had more power after the X was fitted .
pumpkin was a twin pipe 2 in 2 out

BTW this engine is an M28/11 Euro 5 speed 300hp 243tq

Nope, you're right. It's a single dual, if you can call it that. Two pipes close together, routed down the left side, one resonator and then to the pumpkin.

You can see it in this video: (Ignore the x-pipe at the front, should be the 2in 2out main silencer)

Stan,
I have 2 brand new steel ball joints that I was gonna put on EBay. I would be happy to sell to you a greatly reduced amount.

Also, Is it just me or is the airpump belt look really loose and relatively non-functional?

here is a pic of the 82 Euro S factory exhaust with pumpkin deleted by PO. Now it has a Magnaflow dual in dual out just prior to the exit

It has a big resonator up front and a smaller one at the rear before it goes into the pumpkin. I cut the rusted up rear resonator out and replaced with the Magnaflow.
