buy a noid light at the local auto parts store to verify injectors are getting the power. If not, Green Wire is in your future.

928 International-Distributor Wire 78-84-green

Write up is in the "Common Fixes" Thread.

Also the Noid Light tester is pretty inexpensive and they come with adapters to fit all size injectors. I think I paid less than $10 for mine at Autozone.

so green wire will prevent injectors from firing

also has anyone succesully rebuilt this wire as money is an issue at this time in project just wanna get running and get it home

MPDano 07-25-2013 07:54 AM

It's been discussed and supplies researched. In the end, just buy the one I posted.

Sometimes, and very rare, someone might have a spare used one that works. At least to get you home.

Signal on green wire tells the control unit the engine is running, this signal triggers the injectors; check the connector at the ecu end of the wire, that is the one farthest from the distributor, by the 14 pin. If you are lucky, its falling apart and you can make a temporary repair there - pull the pins carefully out of what probably is a very brittle connector and insert into the other half. Make sure you match them pin for pin. If the cable is brittle or broken you are s****d, time to but a new one.

..Does it have enough gas in it? (I know this is a different car, but still...) My Mercedes 190e would start and run for a second, and die.. It had just enough gas in it to start for a second.

I decided to check how much gas was in it after I bought a fuel distributor and fuel pumps... Damnit.

How long has it been sitting at this shop? How rotten does the gas smell if you pull the gas cap and take a whiff?

my green wire should be here today and possibly installed tomorrow keeping hopes up and fingers crosssed

Use the common fixes thread pics as a guide. There will be a piece you'll need to remove on the Disty end of the wire. Take your time on this.

Tells whether your injectors are getting power. No power, injectors wont let fuel through.

They will blink while cranking.

81headache 08-02-2013 11:30 AM

hooked noid sensor up and we are getting no light there is power getting 12volts to injectors but no pulse to fire injectors. there is also fuel in the fuel rail and i already replaced fuel injector relay any ideas where to go from here

MPDano 08-02-2013 12:01 PM

Have you gone through all your grounds? I believe there is a chart in the common fixes thread. Verify all the other injectors with your noid
