Some like the 15W40 oil. Depends on your operating environment. I changed out all my fluids when I got the car. Dexron in the Auto trans, also drained the Torc converter. If you do the trans axle, take the FILL plug out first. Some had a problem getting it out after draining the unit. I believe the PS also takes trans fluid. Coolant, drain all out and replace with good anti-freeze and distilled water. As for fluids/oils, just stick with well known brands and you should be OK.

Thanks Harborman,
I'm located in central NH, probably same climate as Mich. But wow does this issue get involved, a lot of different opinions. At first I assumed I would stick wit the info in the owners manual, but made the mistake of research. Thanks for your help. I want to drive now that we have no more snow banks!

The main thing is to change your oil and filter on schedule. I drive only in summer, so I change mine about once a year, every 6K miles or less. Not my primary car. Don't forget fuel and air filter. Nothing complicated about all this, stick to the owners manual if necessary. The main thing clean oil, filter and scheduled maintenance. Just use good name brand oils and filters, not complicated.
