What are the rarest colors for 1978-1980 Porsche 928

The most popular colors back then were Red- Black- White - Silver

The colors that you would stock & take a chance on were Petrol Blue- Casablanca Beige-Copper Brown- Oak Green- Black Metallic

The rarest colors that you would only order with a strong non refundable deposit were Talbot Yellow- Moonstone- Olive Green- Cashmere Beige - Royal Blue -Chocolate Brown- Light Green Metallic & Minerva Blue with a Cork interior that looked Orange against the Blue.

My 1980 Euro is Cashmere Beige.

I think it's usually referred to as Gold. It seems to be quite rare.

With the possible exception of red, probably not unlike today's popular colors? Dealers rarely step out when ordering cars for stock..... IMO, pretty boring choices unless you want to order and wait.

That actually looks like Casablanca Beige Metallic- Cashmere Beige was a non metallic

Yes, my car is cashmere beige and it looks tan but is non-metallic

My son in law has a Cashmere Beige '81 911 coupe

Well, she has been repainted (before I got her), but it matches the color of the jams and under panels when removed. Paint code is L502. I have some touching up to do, so better have the color checked with the computer thingy. Oh well....listed as gold on the registration.

Have a 79 color chart- does not have Opal metallic on it- adelgigs.com shows L463 to be Casablanca Beige

Does anyone have their 928 painted in anthracite gun metal / brown metallic?

I know it was available in those years, as a friends turbo targa came in that color. It’s my favorite color on the beetles, and always wondered how it would look on a 928.



Some ding-dong blacked out the brushed aluminum bits, which totally ruined the look of this targa.
