'79 928 tool kit question

Hi Folks,

Can anyone confirm if the set of tools in an '84 928 S is the same as for a '79 928?

Thanks in advance,

Humberto

well oddly I have the rear tool holders for both - the 79 is an unneeded extra if you are in the market - the slots for the tools are laid out differently but I can't tell if they just moved the tools around or used different tools - I don't have a complete tool set so I can't fit them from one to the other - the 79 is on bottom of picture

They are different. They attach to the rear differently. The later one uses knobs on the vertical face, and the early one uses tab/snap like structures on the top horizontal face to attach it to the rear panel. They are not interchangeable. You can see the differences in the picture in the post above.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the feedback.

But I was wondering if the actual tools themselves are the same ('79 vs '84).

Regards,

Humberto-
