I'm sure I'm not the first, but I wanted to share my recent upgrade experience. I was so sick of having to take switches apart to clean them after using the window or the seat motor a couple of times on my 1984 928S. So, I finally bit the bullet and bought a bunch of relays on Amazon and commenced to wiring. I also installed some Weatherpack and Deutsch plugs to make things easier.
For the seats, I made a bracket that mimics the stock bracket that holds the plugs, but with six holes for the relays (two for each motor). For the windows and sunroof, I made little metal brackets and attached them where the package tray brackets attach (not shown). The sunroof has never opened that quickly! The windows do down so fast, you would think it was a Ford! What a difference! Highly recommended. |

Seeing it is motivation to do it, thanks. How hard is it to replace a relay?
