Vacuum modulator leaking

Hello folks,

I have a problem with ATF leaking by my vacuum modulator, ALL OVER THE FLOOR. It all started with a MAF, problem and you folks sent me to the guy to fix that. THANKS. My damn vacuum lines were original and hence bad replaced them. My tyranny wasn't shifting correctly. I pulled the vacuum modulator and reran the main vacuum back to the modulator. Good vacuum know. The modulator works fine as per my mini vac. I assume the plastic rod floats and is not supposed to be glued the diaphragm on the modulator. I have had this bastard in and out 3 times and she leaks like a beach. I have replaced the o ring twice. Maybe I'm not putting the o ring on correctly. I pull it up to the neck on the modulator and reseat the modulator. Every time I pull the modulator looking for the leak, the O ring has come off of the modulator. This damn o ring has to be the source of my leak. What is going on here. I know I'm a dumb **** but that does not fix my problem. HELP!!!!!

Make sure you have the correct O ring and that it hasn't been damaged. I needed to replace a modulator without getting a new O ring and using the old O ring. It leaked. I found a near match for the O ring in my supply, installed it and it leaked.

I ordered the correct O ring, installed it and it did not leak. I'm a slow learner, I guess.

I have an assortment of O rings, I replaced it twice. I think it looks ok, but what the hell do I know. I have it off again, forth attempt. If you are a slow learner, I must be autistic, retarded and brain damaged. I tried ordering a new modulator, Pelican, Parts Geeks, Amazon. You can not get one. Gaurdin Porsche ordered me one from the part # on the modulator out of Germany. I never did figure out what they sent me, but it damn sure wasn't a modulator. Sent it back. Thanks for your input, I was thinking maybe I had reversed it when I put it back in, but it is not possible. Any idea where to order the O ring.

Roger is Roger Tyson, the owner of 928sRus located in Double Oak, Texas. You can email him or Google him and call him. He is a wealth of knowledge and a heckuva nice guy. I gave you his email. Substitute in the @ for "at".

I try not to steer business away from this site since it IS technically a competitor for Pelican and they actually do own and fund this site, but I don't think they will mind that you get the correct O ring.
