'84 auto. trans.
I would like to get rid of a used trans. I took out of my '84 928s. It needs a rebuild but is intact. If I could just get $50.00 plus ship. I'd be happy. I think they are worth $250.00-$400.00 as a core.

the numbers that I could find are as follows ; On the right side (facing the bellhousing ) under the words mercedes benz is 126 271 2001, on the other side of the case is 31 4836 06 and on the round insert is 126 277 0903. I hope that tells you what you need to know.

depending on how much work it needs this would be a good deal to an early 3spd AT owner to upgrade to the later 4spd AT

The numbers that mean something I believe are on the bottom, under or maybe a bit forward of the line of the axles, and will start with A28 xx xxxxx.
Put it on ebay and somebody will buy it, not enough people check the classified here that regularly.
