WTB 95mm piston

New to me project 1979 928. Because of low compression I did take engine apart and found two pistons had land area between top two ring groves broken. I did buy a set of 95 mm pistons off ebay but one was damaged at bottom of skirt. Because pistons do not match (one flat top and one dished top) I do not know if I could combine 4 flat top with 4 dished top. One other option would be to have bottom skirt welded back on but not sure if that could be done. What I would like to do is buy additional 95 mm dish top piston and put in with the ebay set. I think the dish top pistons are in 1980 - 1982 928 and they are #2 pistons. sahlhom@gmail.com

One more try find a piston with tolerance #2 from 1980 928 (should be from m28/13 or m28/14 engine). Thank you.

Check with 928 International |Porsche 928 Parts | New, Used and Rebuilt before sale is over (ask or mention 1/2 price in order).

Thanks for the suggestion but 928 international does not have 95mm tolerance #2 - it must be a rare piston size for 1980.

bump - Car is still not together so still have a chance to find 95mm #2 tolerance piston.

a few listings above there is an entire set of tolerance group 2 euro pistons, brand new- seems to be exactly what you are looking for

Those bores don't look right. Have they been sanded or the surface disturbed in any way. If so, that is bad. The bore surface is supposed to be smooth like this. Gunar

They do make flex hone now for nikasil engines.

Stock 928 bores are Alusil and the silicone is brought to the surface by a complicated heating/cooling process. I think they can be honed some way but not easily. Gunar
