944 w/ "sporadic power"
My friend has a 86 944 and has receintly been experiencing "sporadic power." Some times the car seems to have very little power and seems to hesitate. I beleive it must be a fuel injection problem but can't help him much as I don't understand the system very well. The only experience I have is with carbs and CIS. Any hints on where we should start looking? or what may be the problem?
thanks -brad |

Is the car a turbo? Either way, I might be able to help you out and take a look at it. I'm leaving town tomorrow till the 9th of June, but e-mail me at rmeehan@newmexico.com if you want to meet sometime after that.

I had a similar problem with my turbo. It turned out to be a cracked Timed Valve and some faulty vacum pipes leading to the valve. (at least thats what the mechanic said)
It could be other stuff but I thought I'd put my two pennies worth Good Luck!

Yes, certainly could be an injector issue. Have you checked the airbox/filter, etc? I had a similar problem and found my airbox had a crack in it!
