How do i remove the top console to access the power door switch

Do you mean the door locking switch? If you are referring to the switch to lock the doors from inside the car, carefully pull out the tray under the radio, pull out the radio, lift out the ashtray, and undo the screws...switch panel will then come out. You can access the switches without removing the shifter.
