Hood vents

Is anyone vent in their hood to reduce temps in the engine compartment. I'm putting a LR silicone hose kit and in doing do I'm realizing every piece of rubber under the intake is completely cooked. With the location of the turbo and how everything is jammed in there it's easy to see why. Are hood vents actually functional? I'm not interested in going all Fast and Furious but it would be nice to drop temps in there a few degrees. Any recommendations?

Yes hood vents work. I used to see a heap of hot air coming out of my vents when pulled into the pits. It will have a central vent in the hood before it sees the track again next time.

which size did you use? any pics?

Forward of the strut tower is key for getting them in the low pressure zone above the hood.
