Adhesive for door moisture barrier
Apologies if it’s posted elsewhere. I’ve been unable to find a definitive answer.
Need to affix new moisture barrier to door. Using something like window weld creates too much height and stand off from the door so the panel does not sit flush. Looks like it was originally attached with a spray adhesive. Can’t find spray adhesive that looks like it is both firm and removable. Any advice on a product? Thanks! |

I used window film mounting tape on mine. 3M makes a product that can be found in most hardware stores.

Just learned that the genuine seal comes with peel and stick adhesive back that is readily removed and reapplied…. Doh!

Genuine seal?? I’ve replaced the seals on several doors. Home Depot has rolls of the plastic. Use your existing one as a template. Then spray the side going on the door with 3M Super 77 Adhesive. Give it a few minutes to get tacky, and it will adhere nice and tightly. As in vapor tight. Your door cards will thank you. You can peel it off and replace it the same way, with a refresh of the Super 77.
