Oil Thermostat Open?

Had my 95 993 for a few years now. Drove it today for 30 minutes then let it idle in the driveway until temp gauge got to 9 o”clock. Never saw the temp drop like it should when thermostat opens.

I come from the SC world super easy to check for open T-stat by touching the trombone cooler or lines in the pax side front wheel well.

Where, exactly, can I do a touch test to be sure the oil thermostat is open on a 993?

Thanks

Hard to reach anything on 993 but the cooler fan will come on if it's hot enough. Doubt letting it sit and idle it will ever generate enough heat to open. And letting it sit and idle for long periods is a great way to trash your exhaust guides!
