Please Identify if this is an Original Porsche Part
I am working with a potential client with this 'whale tail' on his '97 993 Cabriolet. He thinks it is an original part, and I just wanted to see if there is anyone who has more info out there.

I’m not as well versed as others on 993’s but that doesn’t look like a part that would be offered on a cab. You can easily confirm if you look at the options list under the hood.

It is.
Shady memory as it was 30 years ago, but I faintly recall 2 versions being called Aero kit Ia and Ib. I B had the 3rd brake light for cabriolets. I A didn't. Similar but not the same as the Aero kit introduced on the 4S and then later used on the Turbo S, which sat lower and had air ducts. The full package has tight fitting rocker covers and front lower spoilers similar to RS M002 but smaller. Last edited by CalvinC4S; 04-30-2025 at 05:25 AM.. |
