Need Advise

Hi Guys, I am new to this forum. Just bought a 02' Carrera. Yesterday I took the car to a shop and they changed the fog light and city and front left, right turn signal for me. Looks very nice. My question is the back turn signal is still remain 'orange color' when its on, is it illegal to have white signal lighters in the back?
I live in CA, Los Angeles area.

Also I notice that the 02' porsche CD Changer can't play MP3 cds. Does anyone of yours have that problem, is there any places that they can convert that? I think the changer is Porsche CDC-3
If it plays mp3 that will be awsome

I heard someone said I can take the car to 'GIAC' for the upgrade. They can flash the ECU and install the intake, it will instantly increase like 60hp? Is that true. I know putting a Supercharger is quite expensive, should I go for these 2 things first? Basically this car is for my wife cause she can't drive stick, this one is tiptronic.

Hope any expert here can help me, cause I am new to own a porsche hehe.

Hi Wayne,

Yes, the one I have is Seal Gray exterior and full Black Leather inside. Very nice and clean. I have been looking for a good used one for quite a while. And finally got this one. The interior just like brand new. Wheels is kinesis K18R. But I will sell it soon and get a bigger rim for my car.

The lights should be fine for CA - as long as the bulbs are yellow or the lens is yellow.

CDC-3 and CDR-220 do not play MP3.

No idea on the upgrades, do you have a link for them?

Nice pics of your "new ride".....

Well to answer your question, it IS illegal for you to have white turn signals on your vehicle. Amber and red are the only approved shades for turn signal operation in the state of CA.

I have stelth bulbs on mine and they are great, they look clear when the bulbs are not on but light up in Amber once in use.

FYI: I have the whites on my M3 and have yet to be pulled over for them but then again I'm taking a chance. I'm pretty careful not to use them if there is a patrol car behind me though....

What year is your 996? You have a bigger pictures with different angles? I was looking at PelicanParts.com and I want to put carbon fiber accessories to decorate the interior. 'Carbon Door Entry Guards With Carrera Logo' is $639.40 the lowest price?
Will it perfect fit my 02' 996? Does it require a specialist to install it? What do I do to have the car increase more horse power, I don't want to add a supercharger at this moment cause it very costly. Will flashing the ECU and installing the intake increase hp? How much will it increase? Did you do that on your car?
