How to "trick" a 964 Tiptronic
I know it seems like a dumba&& question, but how do you effectively drive a 964 tip in auto mode?
Yes, I know it starts in 2nd gear, but I don't understand the charts which describe Rolling, full throttle and Kickdown positions. .. for example, when making a tight turn, how do you keep the tip from changing gears? anyone know of any articles on using an early Tip? Thanks! Bart |

If you keep it in "3" it will start in 1st gear.
It will hold the gear when in Tip mode except it will want to upshift from first to second. When you push the pedal to the floor it will down shift automaticly. One nice thing is you can heal and toe down shift. Just blip the throttle click it down. Just like a manual car. Pretty cool once you get the hang of it. Can even left foot brake.
