01,02 stiff clutch issues!!

Hello,

Have a friend who is going to buy a 996 and has test drove and is worried the clutch might be bad? Very stiff pedal.

Was there issues with clutches on these?? And what is the price on a new one??

Thanks in advance...Robert

No issues of concern - Essentially the same clutch as on a boxster

I've seen them last 2 weeks, and I've seen them last 100K miles - it all depends on how they were driven.

I would have the clutch bled and see what happens.

The 996 clutch should have a light, smooth operation. Avoid any cars with a stiff clutch.
